Wasps need to have a Barbie movie moment where they question their purpose and what they were made for. A video posted to Twitter follows a man cutting a wasp nest open and revealing…wasps and nothing else?

Bee’s nests at least have honey and a brutal hierarchy system to protect their queen. The wasp nest is just hollow hexagons scrapped together. It’s fine architecture but what for? What do the wasps do all day where they need a brutalist-style nest to fly home to?

“They don’t even make honey they just be in there doing bs” quote tweeted @Nyaaaax3 which garnered over 10 million views.

“That’s a pretty *** house it’s a shame they have horrendous vibes,” says @jordanbloked.

But it’s a fine question to ask. Other than being a violent version of bees, what do they exactly do for our ecosystem?

A study published in 2021 found multiple reasons wasps were helpful to our livelihood.

Wasps are predators who prey on garden pests like flies, caterpillars, and mosquitos. Yellowjacket venom carries antibiotics that are being used in some cancer research. Some wasp species are pollinators so they serve the same use as bees do.

Nevertheless, it probably wasn’t cool for the person in the video to just destroy their home for views.

“I wonder how long it took those jokers to build it, just to be cut in half?” comments @prepper_feeds with a video of a wasp building a nest from the very small beginning.

It pains us to admit that wasps might have a purpose on this planet. But that does not excuse their bad attitudes!
